April 4, 2000

"Train the Experts" training class. Between 9am and 4pm at TBLC headquarters. This person will be trained to become the in-house expert at your library for first handling of questions regarding how the software operates. They will be expected to help with training both ILL and patron service staff in your library.

February 8-9, 2000

Feb 8, 9:30-11:30 Anywhere, Anytime Library Year 2. This meeting will be for libraries that are thinking about joining the virtual library in the second year (October 2000-September 2001)

Feb 8, 1:30-4:00pm Meeting with Mark Derrick Project Manager from epixtech. Staff from Tampa, Pasco and Sunline Libraries will work epixtech staff on their profiles. Minutes link

Feb 9, TBLC staff to work with epixtech staff on fine tuning the schedule for the project, visit Polk County School System to look at the Follet System and Clearwater to look at the Gaylord System for year two.

February 2,2000

Sun server installed at Tampa Hillsborough

January 21, 2000

The Sun server is due to ship on January 21, 2000 according to John Austin of Sun Microsystems. Expected arrival date is January 24th or 25th. The contract with epixtech was signed on January 7th. There will be Anywhere, Anytime Library meeting at 9:30am on January 20th at TBLC. Target date for the virtual library has been pushed back about a one month. New anticipated opening date is now February 2000.

Initial meeting for participants

November 17th 9:30-12:00 noon at TBLC

Electronic Resources Special Internet Group organizational meeting. At the meeting we will:

  • review responses to the Electronic Resources Survey
  • begin to prioritize potential products
  • form an Electronic Resources Task Force

The task force will be the driving force behind TBLC's effort to negotiate group purchase contracts of electronic resources for member libraries.

Week of October 25

  1. Forms due from Libraries to TBLC
  2. Contract negotiations with CPS

Week of September 27

  1. Grant monies begin Oct 1, 1999

  2. Arrange for purchase of SUN Server

  3. Implement virtual Library sub-committees to work on library agreements, protocols, group purchases and expansion of reciprocal borrowing.

Week of September 6

  1. John Wardell will demo URSA at TBLC 2pm

  2. John will be training Lauren on demonstrating for TBLC's annual meeting in November

  3. Letter of intent goes to CPS
