November Statistics

Ask a Librarian numbers continue to outpace last year’s figures. Each month since July 2006 has shown a significant increase, resulting in over 100% growth from the previous year. With 2,345 chat sessions in November, Ask a Librarian’s use was 109% higher than last November, and email reference demonstrated a 19.4% increase. Overall use is 62.4% higher than last year at the same time. The numbers are 19% down from last month, which is an expected decrease with the Thanksgiving holiday. We learned from last year’s surveys that 44% of our users are returning users, so the rising numbers are definitely a testament to the hard work of all of the participating librarians.
