How many librarians are online?
February 29, 2008 by Diana Filed under News & Announcements
I wanted to make sure that everyone knew how to see who was online and staffing the desk with them. Here is a short demonstration and explanation of how you can find that information:
Librarians can only see patrons from their own desk or queue. If you log in and see 14 librarians online, that is the total of all the desks. If you change the drop down menu on the “active users” tab to “collaborative desk” or “academic desk” you will see there are only, on average, 2 or 3 people staffing those desks. There is a big impact on the service if one of those 2 or 3 misses their shift or doesn’t take questions.
If you have any questions or think you can’t staff your scheduled hours please contact us as soon as possible by e-mailing askalibrarian@tblc.org, or gregorj@tblc.org or calling 1.800.622.8252 ex. 233 or 234
