The Central Florida Association
of Law Libraries (CFALL) is an association of law librarians and
those interested in law librarianship in West Central Florida
-- primarily the Tampa Bay area, but we have members as far east
as Orlando and as far south as Sarasota. We are committed to providing
leadership in the field of legal information and cultivating a
spirit of cooperation among the association's members.
CFALL grew out of monthly Wednesday
luncheon meetings of a group of law librarians in the Tampa area.
They continued to meet informally for about 5 years, and then
finally met for a formal organizational meeting at Holland &
Knight in March of 1985. Bylaws were formulated, and there was
a paid membership of 50. Rosalyn Gibbs was elected first president
of the group, with Anne Ellis as vice-president. Programming that
first year included a tour of the new facility at Commerce Clearing
House in St. Petersburg, as well as a visit to the Charles A.
Dana Law Library at Stetson College of Law. The organization has
met continuously since that time, as an independent group, providing
educational and financial support to the law library community
of the central Florida area. Membership is open to anyone interested
in law libraries. |
