Possible Tech Fair for Gadgetry

Web 2.0 is all the buzz. Library literature and conferences, the general news media, and the Internet at large are focusing on these new integrated technologies. Typically, Web 2.0 technologies are the “supposed second-generation of internet-based services that let people collaborate and share information online in new ways, such as social networking sites, wikis, communication tools, and folksonomies.” TBLC is challenging its members to get up to date and integrate these new technologies into their library services.

In the next 18 months, starting in January 2007, TBLC will offer regular workshops and online tutorials on various Web 2.0 topics. In addition, TBLC will facilitate 1-to-2-hour think tank sessions on 2.0 topics, to help libraries and individuals figure out how to implement these technologies. For each completed segment, participants will receive a TBLC Golden Ticket.

TBLC Golden Tickets can be exchanged for a variety of prizes ranging from small gifts to gift cards to valuable technology tools like USB thumb drives, MP3 players, and much more. The more TBLC Golden Tickets you earn, the bigger the prize you can collect!
