Implementing New Technologies Special Interest Group
May 14, 2008 (9:30 a.m. to noon)
|
We’ve been talking about Library 2.0 for a while now, and there are so many great new technologies out there. But which ones will work for your library? How do you decide whether or not you should implement something? What is the benefit of these new technologies for your library? Join us to discuss these issues with your library colleagues. The group will include librarians who have already implemented some of these technologies and can discuss the pros and cons, and also those who are still just considering what to do. Learn what worked for others and what may or may not work for you. Click here for more information or to sign up for this class. |

May 30, 2008 (9 a.m. to 4 p.m.)
Instructor: J. Dale Prince
Library users and stakeholders will recognize and value the importance of their library's services and of the librarian to the organization. That is the ultimate goal of this six-hour workshop. The outcome for the class is that librarians will be able to show the value of their library's services. Participants will become familiar with an evaluation process and will use and take away methods and tools for assessment, evaluation planning, creating logic models, data collection, data analysis and reporting. The workshop will feature group exercises that move participants through the steps of an evaluation process. There will also be student discussion and exercises in addition to lecture.
