Fiction vs. Non-Fiction:
"A Million Little Pieces"

“A Million Little Pieces” by James Frey has been the subject of a huge controversy, after The Smoking Gun website alleged that Frey lied in the book about many aspects of his past. Frey admitted that he “embellished central details of his criminal career and purported incarceration for ‘obvious dramatic reasons’ in the nonfiction work”.

Catalogers began discussing "A Million Little Pieces" on the cataloging list AUTOCAT soon after the initial Smoking Gun article and the author's subsequent appearance on Oprah to discuss the allegations.

Ask a Librarian Management Changes

Vince Mariner has resigned his position as Statewide Coordinator and moved on to a Reference Coordinator position in Pennsylvania. Vince's departure will bring some changes to the management of Ask a Librarian.
