The first phase of library expansion and renovation construction affects our Children's Department; as a result, on-site Children's programming has been temporarily suspended but we are scheduling youth programs in the city whenever possible. New! Televised Storytimes. Meet Angelica, Rusty, Simon and Pete at our first preschool Storytime airing on Government Access Cable TV, "Insight Safety Harbor" on Brighthouse Channel 615 or Knology Channel 15. Watch the web site for dates and times of televised storytimes with Miss Cloyce, Miss Mary Kay, and Miss Pat.

Picnicing Pigs wave flags and read


All programs are free and open to the public. They are typically held in the meeting room. Youth Summer Reading Program


Monday, June 9 through Friday, July 18. Children receive coins for every hour read. Coins can be redeemed for prizes at The Prize Store open Monday, July 21 through Saturday, July 26.

Reading with the Rays Baseball Team


Joint Reading Program with the Rays baseball team and the St. Petersburg Times Newspaper in Education Department in cooperation with PPLC.

New! Trivia Question of the Week for Young Readers


Grades K through 5th. Friday, June 6 through Friday, July 18. Submit your answer to the posted weekly trivia question. Drawings take place on Fridays at 1 p.m. The weekly winner will be notified by phone to pick up his or her prize.
Favorite Online Games for Youth


Children and Parents list your favorite free online games including their web address on the form provided in the children's area and place in the box for consideration in a future list of "Sites for Kids". Box will be available May through July '08.
