| Art Displays and Exhibits Policy Thank you for your interest in art or collectible displays at the Safety Harbor Public library. The library has hanging gallery space and three display cases that may be reserved by local and regional artists as well as by non-profit organizations based in Pinellas County . I. Scheduling: Children's Department (one case): 724-1525 X 110. Mary Kay or Cloyce. Reference Department (two cases & wall gallery): 724-1525 x 112. The art and exhibit displays in the Reference and Children's Departments (child-related theme) are scheduled on a month-by-month basis two to three months in advance of the showing month. The library may reserve display areas during certain months for library-sponsored exhibits. II. Liability:The Safety Harbor Public Library and the City of Safety Harbor assume no responsibility for the loss or damage to items exhibited in the library. All exhibitors are asked to sign an indemnity form in which they list all items in their display and release the library and the City of Safety Harbor from any liability. Cases are kept locked; the gallery area is open to the public. III. Setting up and taking down displays
IV. Display Criteria All displays must be pre-approved by the Reference Department, Children's Librarian (child-related theme), or their delegated library art liaison. The Library Director retains the right to refuse a display, to remove any items or materials from within a display, and to alter the dates of an exhibit.
V. Display Parameters Safety Harbor Public Library does not function as an agent for art exhibitors, but can refer customers to an individual artist or organization for the purpose of sale negotiation. The Reference Department can provide price lists and business cards upon request from the reference desk. Price tags or other sales information are not to be included on the display or exhibit. Exhibitors are encouraged to provide an 8 1/2 x 11 artist statement for the library to post. The Safety Harbor Public Library and the City of Safety Harbor do not necessarily endorse the information or theme represented by materials displayed in the library. |
