POLICY ON UNATTENDED OR DISRUPTIVE CHILDREN

The Library welcomes all children to use their facilities and services. However, responsibility for children using the Library rests with the parent/guardian or assigned chaperone - not with library personnel.

Children ages SIX or under should not be left unattended in the library; they must be accompanied by an adult or a responsible teenager. Responsible parties must remain in the library while children attend story time or other programs.

Children ages SEVEN and older may use the library unattended subject to other policies and procedures adopted by the library concerning behavior, conduct and demeanor.

Disruptive children will not be allowed to interfere with library service to other patrons. Disruptive behavior is any behavior within the library which infringes on the rights of others using the library.

The library cannot assume responsibility for persons or property outside the building.
