United States Government Documents Ready Reference Collection.  A set of frequently used government documents in Columbia University's Government Documents collection. Many are accessible via the Web
Core Documents of U.S. Democracy. A set  of 24 documents in 6 categories  (legislative, regulatory, Office of the President, demographic, and miscellaneous) these include the Constitution, the Bill of Rights, Code of Federal Regulations, Federal Register (where regulations are first published), Congressional bills, the Congressional Record, the United States Code, Supreme Court decisions,  economic and business data and the Statistical Abstracts.

Pension Search Directory. Created by the Department of Labor, this site helps people determine if they or someone they know is entitled to a pension benefit. Searches can be done by name, by company or by state.

USDA National Agricultural Statistics. Comprehensive multi-year coverage (1994 to 1998 with historic series generally from 1984 on) of all aspects of American agriculture including including crops, livestock, farm income and expenses, price-support, and fertilizer and pesticides. Requires Adobe Acrobat to read the files (a copy can be downloaded from the site)

U.S. Department of Agriculture Center for Nutrition Policy and Promotion.On this site you will find information on subjects relating to health and nutrition such as the Food Pyramid (and the new Food Pyramid for young children), the nutrient content of U.S. food supply, official USDA food plans and Expenditures on Children by Families. This tells  much does it cost to raise a child to age 18  .  Many factors are taken into consideration, including income level and single parent versus two parent households.  Be prepared to be shocked at how much your kids have cost you.
Occupational Employment and Wage Estimates.  Estimates hourly and annual pay for most occupations by geographical area (national, state and standard metropolitan area)
Occupational Outlook Handbook. Web based version of handbook. Invaluable for students and job seekers, the OOH provides information such as the nature of work, working conditions, employment outlook, education and training required and related occupations for over 800 occupations. There are also links to an online version of the Occupational Outlook Quarterly and to employment projections between 1998 and 2008.
