Library Card Information

Library cards are free to residents of Tarpon Springs, unincorporated areas of Pinellas County, and cities that are members of the Pinellas Public Library Cooperative.

Photo identification and proof of current address (such as tax receipt, voter's registration, utility bill, lease, property deed or other appropriate identification) are needed to obtain a library card. Cards expire in three years.

Juveniles shall be required to have their applications signed by one parent or guardian. It is to be understood that "juvenile" shall include all children under 14 years of age (who are not in high school).

Persons without the necessary identification may obtain a six month card for $10 for use at the Tarpon Springs Library only, or a Pinellas Public Library Cooperative card for three months for $25 or $100 a year.

Residents of Hillsborough, Pasco, Citrus, and Hernando Counties have reciprocal borrowing privileges. Participating members of the Tampa Bay Library Consortium and students of the St. Petersburg Junior College system also have borrowing privileges through reciprocal borrowing agreements.

Persons may check out materials without their library card if they possess picture identification. Persons may not use another patron's library card.

Patrons may check their library card accounts online via SunCat, the library's catalog. Available information includes items currently checked out, reserves, and fines.
