About the Friends

The Friends of the Tarpon Springs Public Library, Inc. is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization which raises money and sponsors events to enhance the development of the library services at the Tarpon Springs Public Library by fostering support for the library and educating the public as to the library's needs.

Friends of the Library Scholarships

The Friends of the Tarpon Springs Public Library, Inc. offers two scholarships to graduating seniors in the amount of $1,000 each. A scholarship applicant must meet the following criteria: complete a minimum of 100 hours of volunteer service for the Tarpon Springs Public Library (hours must be performed during grades 9-12), complete volunteer hours other than for Tarpon Springs Public Library, maintain a courteous and respectful manner, plan to continue education, and be highly motivated and determined to do well. An applicant's GPA and extracurricular activities will also be taken into consideration.

Touring the Universe
Robert Wilson will discuss the origin and future of the universe, the birth and death of stars and galaxies, the Milky Way galaxy and our solar system. This free event is part of the Friends of the Library's Outside of the Box speaker series. Refreshments will be served.
